So what do you say to a girl you meet on the chairlift? Its so easy, there are a million things to talk about in the snow. The weather, the runs, the speed of the chairlift anything – all you need you make sure, is that you don’t come across like a weirdo, and that you don’t sound like you’re trying to pick us up…No girl will respond well to pick up lines in the snow. There is very little scope for this unfortunately, but its just the way it is. The way you should see things is that if you consider going to a bar – its very easy for a girl to imagine going home with you/kissing you in the parking lots etc. In the snow, its a very different story. Numbers are winners

In the snow, there is a party atmosphere. People want to meet people, and people want to talk to you. The fact is, the more people you talk to, the more chances you will have to pick up. Sure, you won’t every time, but who will? Many girls will be there with their boyfriends or families – a snow trip with 8 single girls is very rare. Often the single girls are those who are actually working on the mountain, so sometimes they are your best bet. If you are in a big ski field like in Canada or in Japan, there are many many people who go to those ski fields from all over the world – mostly single! Find out when the next hospitality night or local workers night is, and hit that party – your ability to pick up girls there will be the highest.Like I said, just talk to as many girls as possible, and you’re bound to find one like me!

Mountain Hunting

The actual mountain is a great place to pick up. When girls fall, they like someone to come and help them up. I should know – I hate getting snow in my bum, and feeling silly. All I wish for is some white night to come along and help me up, pick up my goggles from 10 meters away, and help me up…Here is a little story for you: I was once skiing in Japan, and hit a small mogul run. The weather was just beautiful, but I managed to fall quite heavily. A lovely japanese boy came to help me up, and he told me how I made a terrific impression of a rag doll when I fell – he had such a cheeky grin on his face, that we both burst out laughing. We ended up spending the evening sipping Sake and talking about the snow etc. In the end, we swapped digits, and I have been in contact ever since. Next time I’m in Japan, I will definitely meet up with him! My little saviour!

Going out at night

Picking up in nightclubs in the snow is easy. Mostly, the people that are there are single, and know how to party. Everyone is happy, and the overall atmosphere is very positive. Don’t worry about being shy – the snow is where characters rule! Want to dance like a goose? Dance like a goose! Girls love this, and will respond to guys who show that they are confident. When choosing a place to hang out at night, ask the locals. They will know what is good and what’s not. Don’t go to the places that your tour guide recommends. And at the end of the day, just follow the nicest girl you’ve met on the mountain to wherever she wants to go!

So you’re shy. So what you think? Well, there is more to meeting girls than just reading the articles here. Of course, they give you a huge leg up, but lots of your advancements in being successful with picking up single women, or being successful on online dating sites is within yourself. Don’t wait another minute, and start reading this to overcome shyness…

Definition of shyness:

adj. shi·er (shr) or shy·er, shi·est (shst) or shy·est

1. Easily startled; timid.

So this is the dictionary definition of being shy, but what about the DATING definition of shyness. Its a bit simpler:

Shyness = No dating.

What we have learnt over time is that shyness will significantly impact on the number of dates you get. This should be fairly obvious to most of you, who would realize that the formula of More Tries = More Dates would mean that shy guys just don’t have the numbers, and its definitely true. The numbers just don’t work. Say there is a shy but above average looking guy. He stands in the corner. He has his arms folded and doesn’t approach anyone. Even when other guys come up to him, he gives them 1 syllable answers and doesn’t engage in any activities or conversation. Other guys will ALSO not talk to you. So this applies not only to your guy-girl interactions, but also with your friendships. So how can you beat this? Here are the essential tips to help you on your way to overcoming shyness. Don’t be Love Shy! Be Love Confident!

Get rid of my shyness tips

1. Posture: Stand tall. Don’t slouch and droop your shoulders. Make sure that you have a strong core (ie stomach is held firm and chest is proud) – you don’t have to be a muscle man, but if you concentrate on these 2 things, you will appear very much more confident. Whilst you are at it, don’t just do it half arsed, actually stand in front of a mirror and check what you look like. Having a bad posture will make you look love shy.

2. Body language. Make sure that you aren’t giving signals that tell people to go away. Arm crossing, looking down at your shoes, turning away when someone is speaking to you, etc – all have an impact on whether people will talk to you. Remember, being shy does not only mean that you aren’t making the effort to speak to others, but also means that people won’t want to talk to you if you are not giving them the correct messages. By working on your body language, you will improve the number of people that come up and talk to you which in turn means More Tries = More Dates.

3. Eye contact. Although eye contact is in part to do with your posture and your body language as above, it is so important, it deserves its own bullet point. Eye contact with other girls AND other guys is an essential part of overcoming your shyness. Shy guys do not hold gazes. They look away as soon as they are looked at, and people perceive this as being shy/weak/not confident. Make the change. Scan the room with your eyes and hold gazes. But don’t stare. It IS a bit of a balance, but I’m sure you will get the right idea. A quick tip – when holding a gaze, especially with a female, in your mind just think: “You are reaaaaaaalllllly hot” and if you are still looking at them for any longer than that, then its too long. Don’t stare.

4. Be proactive. Overcoming shyness means you need to put yourself in some uncomfortable situations. Sure, you may not WANT to approach a group of girls – and yes, I do know that they may seem intimidating – but you will NEED to do this a few times to get it into your psyche that they will NOT bite you. The trick is – start slow. Approach 2 girls – perhaps they aren’t too good looking. Have a chat, not longer than 2-3 minutes, and then move on. Then approach 2 girls who are a bit better looking, and then next time approach 5 girls who are good looking. And so on and so on. Over time (A relatively short amount of time), this tip in itself can help you get past your shyness and move on. Within a few weeks, you will be so much more confident, you will be amazed.

5. Be Curious. This tip will help you when you are talking to others. Its a great trick, and one that I tell everyone that I can. All you need to do is be curious. Or be interested. When are you next talking to someone and you are in the process of curing your shyness, all you need to do is to ask the other person all about themselves. Be interested in what they are doing, or what they have done. You’d be amazed at how much people love talking about themselves. This is fantastic as then you don’t even need to think about anything to talk about! Once you master this technique, you will never feel shy again when you meet new people.

6. Boost your numbers. The biggest point of this article is to boost your numbers, and the only way you’re going to do this is by asking more and more girls out. Beating shyness can all be seen by the number of people you ask out in one night. The trick to this (And this one you shouldn’t tell everyone about or it will be obvious). With a few friends, have a scoreboard. Call it the Board of Success. Just ask a few friends to keep score of the number of girls you ask out in one night. This is an honor system and one that will rocket you to success. Make it a game. You get 1 point per person you ask out. 2 points if they give you their number, and 3 points if you get a kiss (even on the cheek). Someone has to witness each event, or sight the number. By the end of the night, you will have a few numbers, have gotten a few kisses on the cheek, and at the end of the day – you’ve overcome shyness and stop being love shy!

If you are at all like me, you love casinos. The bright lights, the sounds of money falling, and best of all, the rush when you got for your double down on blackjack. But little know to many, is that a casino provides even more. Have you ever thought of picking up at a casino? Well, it is one of the most untapped resources around. It may as minor as someone using your email for spam, or sending you unsolicited emails, but there is a growing amount of identity theft that has started creeping into the dating world. To keep yourself safe when using an online dating site, here are a few tips to make sure you aren’t one of those statistics. If it happens to you, don’t fret – there are many services which can help you, just make sure you don’t go into another dodgy one!

Rule number 1: Only use online dating sites that are reputable. Ollie S from Dating Dragons has written a review of 3 of the best dating sites for 2010. Rule number 5: If someone tries to send you a file that doesn’t look like a picture file or something you know, then get rid of it. There are many other ways that people can show you their profile picture or additional photos. Such as facebook, or on their own website. If someone is trying to send you a file, make sure you know a little about antivirus software, and how to spot faked files. People who are trying to steal your identity can send you a file that actually loads a small trojan or keylogger on your computer and sends them information about your bank logins and personal details. Obviously, sometimes its totally innocent – all I am saying, is be careful.

If you follow these 5 basic rules, you should be safe. Overall, people can be safe doing most things online if they are sensible. Online dating is one of those things where identity theft is starting to really creep in because its so popular and easily accessible.

My New Years Resolutions – Dating In 2010

After the “Naughties” decade, we are in for a great new decade, or at least I feel like we are! 2010 is going to be the year of revolution in dating, with many new online dating sites and online dating methods. We have come a long way in the last 10 years. Whoever heard of facebook, twitter, myspace and the like in the year 2000 (Look me up on facebook and twitter)! These methods of contacting others has spread far and wide, and now we find that we just can’t do without it. Through my experiences with picking up in bars, clubs compared with meeting great guys on good online dating sites, I often wonder whether its even worth getting dressed and going out these days! Of course, it is always fun to go out with the girls and meet new people, and listening to new pick up lines is hilarious! I can’t WAIT until 2010 brings me some novel ways to meet new guys! Here is a list of My 2010 New Years Resolutions for Dating.

1. Online Dating – Find an awesome online dating site and stick to it. I often move from dating site to dating site and sometimes I just don’t get it right. Often they are expensive and sometimes you just have a hard time even working out how to use them! I’m not the most tech savvy person, but I love meeting people online. 2. Being more receptive to male advances – As a girl, we get approached by guys all the time. I have heard it all, the good pick up lines, the bad ones, and the ones that make me just go, Huh? Well, I’ve decided to make it a new years resolution for 2010 to be more receptive. I know that a lot of my girlfriends have said similar things.

3. Take up a new co-ed team sport! Sports are great ways to meet people, and I have always stuck to single person sports like tennis, and all girl sports like netball. Well, I would love to try something with guys as well! After all, who doesn’t like a sporty guy! I am thinking that beach volleyball or even 10-pin bowling might be interesting. Any other ideas guys? Help me build a list of great new co-ed sports. Just tell me on the forum.

4. Thinking up more cool new dating places - Sometimes, its me that’s making the plans for a date. I don’t mind this at all, and the traditional times where the male always came up with the date plans is over! 2010 I’m going to take charge, and try some cool new dating venues, and date ideas. If there are any girls reading this – what about trying to take your man to do something he would like, like going to an indoor shooting range? Or how about getting a big group of guys and girls to go paintballing instead of speed dating!

5. Speaking of Speed Dating – I would love to try more speed dating. A busy life has funnily enough stopped me from going on speed dates. They are always held during times when I already have other committments. If its not writing on here, its taking the dating classes in New York. If its not that, its catching up with my girlfriends, or going on one-on-one dates. I will try some more speed dating events. I always tell my readers and students that speed dating is just dating for busy people – and look at me! Time to put my own words into action!

6. Finally – to try new things in the bedroom – I’m always up for experimenting, and 2010 is going to bring new fun into the bedroom! Time to start reading the Kamasutra again!

Just keep them in mind next time you’re looking to join one, as these ones appear to have the best ability to actually pull you some girls.

I never followed through on those enquiries as the whole thing was for research, but that was quite good, considering I’m not the best looking guy out there! The girls seemed really genuine compared with other sites like rsvp.com where I have heard many stories about people meeting up with middle aged women rather than the smokers on their profile pic! DATING SITE 2 – Online dating has definitely come a long way, and this is evident by the layout of this dating site. I have never seen such a professional looking online dating site – it increases the appeal of both guys and girl in going to the site. Once again, I tested this for just over 6 weeks, and it was terrific. I actually did follow through on 2 messages that I received, because the profile pictures were very appealing. And lo and behold! They looked exactly the same as their profile pictures! I am still in very close contact with one of them…I used one of my favourite techniques in getting a prospective online date to say yes to a personal meeting – Actually, its not my trick, I got it from Harry Laurent! I went out and bought the cheapest phone I could find. It was $39, with a prepaid sim card within. I packaged it in a box and sent it to her, all fully charged and ready to go (If you are doing this, make sure you take it out of the box and test it etc!!!). I had the phone sent via courier so I would know exactly when it arrived at her doorstep, then I called it 5 minutes after she opened the package and asked her out on a date! DATING SITE 3 – Here is a slightly larger one that has actually proven the test of time. Unlike some of the larger ones, there are great tools to help you narrow down girls in your area and finding single girls who will actually talk to you! There is absolutely no point in having a site full of single girls where none of them are actually out there looking at your profile. There is a neat feature which puts your profile on a rotation which doesn’t cost any money. I used this site for 3 months, because I wanted to create some kind of statistics so you can see that this one actually does have good visibility. Visibility is the key to success, just like getting out there and asking out lots of girls – eventually one will say yes! In this case, there is no fear of failure, as you don’t have to lift a finger! Populating your profile is easy on this one, and I would recommend this to newer online dating users. Most of my friends who use online dating found this the best site to start off with, and then I showed them the ones above, and they are hooked. Dating site 3 has been around the longest of these 3 and definitely has the number of users to prove it.

I thought that was pretty good. What surprised me was that there wasn’t a slow start or uptake as many other sites, but I received my first message about 2 hours after I put my half finished profile on there! For all those single guys out there who are dreading NYE this year, here are a few tips.

1. Select your party carefully – During the festive season, you will receive many many offers to attend parties. There will be christmas parties for your work, your family bbq, your friends meetings for drinks, and more. Don’t go to everything thinking you will pick up. There are some functions which will have a much higher yield than usual. Most popular local bars will have a christmas night, or a new years eve party – these are HOT SPOTS for meeting girls. Don’t go to your parents bbq if you are planning on that special midnight kiss!

2. Call a few girls – if you know some nice single girls, or even have an online dating account where you have a few girls that you speak to on there, invite them out. Its a numbers game – invite 3-5 girls to a party, and you can be sure that you will score by the end of the night. Remember not to invite them exclusively. Say something like: My friend is having a party at his house – if you’re not doing anything, come along! If you don’t present it like that, you may come across as a bit of a jerk when they realise that you’ve invited 5 of them just so you can score by the end of the night. Firstly, many users who are longing for a partner to take to their work christmas functions will be more receptive to advances online.
